The Plantation house was run by 4 Creole women and is a operational sugar cane plantation.
Though the plantation house was damaged by fire in 2004, it has been reconstructed to its former glory.
The history of Slavery and the Slave Cabins are part of this 1 hour 15 minute walking guided tour. This is where the fable “Brier Rabbit” was written. According to historians, the tour of “Laura” is the most historical in the Mississippi Valley.
