Swamp Tours by COVERED TOUR BOAT
Cruise
slowly past an ancient 2000 year old, sacred Indian mound and a
local Cajun cemetery where the people of the swamp are buried above
ground. You will see the Cajun fishing boats along the bayou.
Proud fishermen may even stop to show you their catch. No matter
which method of tour boat that you chose, you will venture deep
into the Barataria swamps that was once the home of Pirate, Jean
Lafitte.
Our 60 passenger
swamp tour boats are the finest swamp boats in Louisiana. We have
two 60 passenger Coast Guard Certified Vessels that are designed
for your comfort. The tour boats have a roof and removable plastic
windows that can be lowered for cold or rainy conditions. These
boats have restrooms and padded seats. So even if you get an unscheduled
rain shower, your comfort will be assured.
The
swamp tour boats are fully narrated, while the airboats are half
ride and half tour. Our captains are natives of the Barataria
Swamps and come from a background of gator hunting, fishing and
trapping. They will entertain you and amaze you with the ecology
of the swampland. They have lived the life!
Swamp Tours by HIGH SPEED AIRBOAT
Our
16 passenger Airboats are Coast Guard inspected and certified
and powered by 425 plus horsepower Chevy engines. Our fleet of
4 airboats will accommodate a total of 64 passengers per trip.
These boats can travel at speeds of up to 35 mph and can go in
inches of water. These shallow draft boats can make a 90 degree
turn on a dime. Each airboat is designed to give its passengers
a full view of the swamp that surrounds you. The seats are padded
and stadium designed, so the passenger in front does not obstruct
your view.
Be
careful, you get splashed!
